Nothing, a London-based tech company founded in 2020 by Carl Pei, creates innovative consumer electronics with unique, transparent designs. Launched with the Ear (1) earbuds and Phone (1) smartphone, it emphasizes fun, user-friendly technology. Backed by investors like Google Ventures, Nothing also offers affordable products through its CMF sub-brand.
Nothing debuted with the Ear (1) earbuds in 2021 and the Glyph-equipped Phone (1) in 2022. The company released the Phone (2) and Ear (2) in 2023, followed by the CMF Phone (2a). In 2025, Nothing launched the AI-focused Phone (3a) and 3a Pro in March, the premium Phone (3) in summer, the Headphone (1) over-ear, and CMF’s customizable Headphone Pro with 100-hour battery life for $99.
